Draw Photorealistic Portraits in 30 Days: A New Course, and a New Category for This Series
Every book in this catalogue so far has fit neatly into one of five series. Draw Photorealistic Portraits in 30 Days does not, and rather than force it into the wrong shelf, we gave it a new one: Creative Skills, the first entry in what we expect to become its own strand over time.
A 30-Day Structured Course, Not a Collection of Tips
The book runs as thirty daily lessons, each one building directly on the one before it. Foundations and proportion come first, then the specific layering and blending technique that separates a flat, "grey mush" drawing from one with real depth and light, then full portrait training — eyes, nose, mouth, ears, hair and skin, each studied in its own depth using the Loomis construction method — before two full, independent portrait projects put the whole method to the test on two different faces.
A Demonstration Panel for Every Lesson
Every one of the thirty lessons carries its own five-stage progressive demonstration panel, showing the actual progression from bare construction lines through to a finished rendering, so the reader always knows what a technique is meant to look like at every stage rather than only at the end. All thirty were generated and independently spot-checked for consistency before the manuscript was written around them.
Honest About What Thirty Days Can and Cannot Do
This is a beginner's course, and it says so plainly. Thirty days of practice will not produce a decade of skill, and the book does not pretend otherwise. What it sets out to deliver instead is real, correct technique, a genuinely sharper eye for value and proportion, and a full, dated, thirty-day record of visible progress on paper — the actual evidence that the method works, rather than a promise that it will.
At 76 pages, this is one of the more compact titles in the catalogue, built to the same standard as every other To Succeed guide: a full Board of Critics review pass, a materials list, troubleshooting guide, glossary, FAQ and a 30-day progress tracker included.
