LC Maths Ordinary Level: Step-by-Step to the Exam, Now With a Free Online Practice Hub
LC Maths Ordinary Level: Step-by-Step to the Exam is now available on Amazon. It is an independent study guide for students who find Ordinary Level Maths stressful, and it has been rebuilt around how the exam is actually laid out and marked.
Know the Paper Before You Sit It
Each Ordinary Level paper is worth 300 marks and runs for 2 hours 30 minutes. Section A has six short questions, of which you answer five, and Section B has four longer questions, of which you answer three. A calculator and the Formulae and Tables booklet are allowed. The book walks through how to plan your time, why showing your working matters, and how partial credit works, so that a half-finished question still earns marks.
Every Topic, Explained Plainly
The course is covered topic by topic with worked examples and diagrams: algebra, equations, functions and graphs, complex numbers, financial maths (compound interest, tax, USC, VAT and depreciation), sequences and series, differentiation, co-ordinate geometry of the line and circle, trigonometry, area and volume, geometry and constructions, statistics, counting and probability.
Two Full Practice Papers
The book includes two original 300-mark practice papers built to match the layout of the real papers, each with a marking guide and worked solutions. They are our own questions, not reproductions of any past paper.
A Free Online Practice Hub
Every copy comes with a free online practice hub: topic drills, timed practice papers and a progress tracker. The access details are printed in the book, so the hub is for people who own it.
An Independent Guide
This book is not produced, endorsed or affiliated with the State Examinations Commission or the Department of Education. Always check examinations.ie for the current papers and marking schemes before you sit the exam.
