Eating Well in Later Life: A Practical Guide to Appetite, Protein and Hydration After 55
Eating Well in Later Life is now available on Amazon. It is the fourth title in our over-55 wellbeing strand, alongside Balance First, Walking To Succeed and Swim & Move To Succeed, and it covers the everyday side of staying well: what and how we eat.
Not a Cookbook, Not Medical Advice
The book is a calm, plain-English guide for older readers and for the family who help them. It explains the basics, offers food-first ideas that suit small appetites and cooking for one, and suggests good questions to take to a GP, pharmacist or dietitian. It does not diagnose or treat anything, and it says so clearly.
What Is Inside
The book covers appetite and changes in taste, protein from everyday foods (including vegetarian options), calcium and vitamin D for bone health, and why thirst fades with age and how to drink more. A practical toolkit follows: shopping, snacks, eating out, texture-modified foods, a seven-day menu and a shopping list.
Where It Fits
Eating is one part of the picture. For strength and steadiness see Balance First, and for gentle daily movement see Walking To Succeed. If you or someone you care for has a health condition or takes regular medicines, check with a health professional before changing what you eat.
